[TRIGGER WARNING: Battle of Hogwarts reference ahead]
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is already basically heaven on Earth for fans of the series, and it just got even more immersive. The park started testing new nighttime lights show that really adds a special, magical touch to the place. The Hogwarts castle is lit up, almost as if it’s had a spell cast on it. Lumos!
The Wizarding World at the Universal Studios in Hollywood started testing the display in late May, and it’s pretty stunning. Narrated by the Sorting Hat and set to the famed film score, it pays tribute to each Hogwarts house. I won’t spoil anything, but the tribute to Slytherin is especially impressive.
There’s nothing quite like kicking back with an ice-cold butterbeer and watching Hogwarts light up as if it’s been enchanted after a long day of exploring Hogsmeade. Although, to be perfectly honest, displaying a lights show on the side of the castle is kind of giving me flashbacks to the infamous Battle of Hogwarts. So triggering. Never forget. But don’t let that stop you from enjoying the show. It’s definitely a reason to spend an extra hour or two in the park… and put off going back to reality.
