The public’s fascination with climbing iconic landmarks is something that will probably never go away. Whether it’s kids scaling the Golden Gate Bridge or professionals tightrope walking over Niagara Falls, people love getting their thrills from crazy stunts. But, Paris is now letting daredevils get the adrenaline rush out of their systems… by adding a temporary zipline off the freakin’ Eiffel Tower. You read that right…an Eiffel Tower zipline!
The 800-meter long zipline, which takes off from the second floor of the landmark and ends across the way at L’École Militaire, was set up thanks to Perrier (oui, the sparkling water company) in honor of the French Open. Not sure what tennis, sparkling water, and ziplines have to do with one another, but it’s still a neat publicity stunt regardless (they claim that the trajectory of the zipline is meant to mimic the way a tennis ball is slammed over the net. Sure.)You’ll need to buy Eiffel Tower zipline tickets first!
What are you waiting for! Get your Eiffel Tower Zipline tickets, you adrenaline junkies!
The 60-second ride, which zips you over the city 90 km above the ground, will be open every day until June 11th, and only 100 rides are available each day, so get your kicks in ASAP! Who knows when you’ll be able to (legally) hurl yourself over the edge of the Eiffel Tower. As for me, I’ll keep hoping they open a zipline over the Grand Canyon.
